Hi knitters!!

^.^ Valentine’s Day is here!  ^.^.

So, in this post you will learn how to knit a heart in Garter stitch. This is the perfect gift for that special person!

Follow the steps for this free pattern and you will have your heart in no time!

1. Cast on 3 stitches on your WAK knitting needle.

2. Knit 2 stitches.

3. Knit rows from 3 to 5 increasing one stitch at the beginning of the row. In the end of the row, you will have 6 stitches on the needle.

4. Cast on 3 additional stitches on the same needle, and repeat steps 2 and 3.

5.      Take your knitting off the needle and put it on the other needle, so you will have the first two parts of the heart together. Be careful, don’t lose any stitches.

6. Knit 3 rows in Garter stitch.

7. Now, knit all stitches decreasing 1 stitch in every row. So, knit two stitches together in the beginning of the row. Repeat this process until you only have one stitch left on your needle.

… and voilá!

Now that you have knitted your heart, mix different yarns and colors and knit more hearts. You can share lots of knitting love with gifts and decorations  for your beloved 😉

You have tons of options. You can knit two big hearts and join them to create a cushion, or you can knit lots of small hearts to put on a gift box… or decorate a special place!

It’s a special day and we want to see your creations. Use the hashtag #weareknitters on Instagram… We can’t wait to see your WAK Valentine’s Day creations!
