Hi knitters!

Today we are going to learn another new stitch, the Ribboned Stockinette Stitch, which is a particularly small horizontal stitch that crosses the other stitches from one side. Although it is not a reversible stitch, there are people that like the purling effect of this stitch, and use it on the other side.

To make this stitch, cast on a number of stitches that is a multiple of 2 stitches + 2 stitches on the edge (one stitch on each side). Always knit the stitches on the edge.

Row 1: Knit one stitch * pass the next stitch without knitting with the strand of yarn in the front, bring the strand of yarn to the back, knit one stitch*. Repeat * to * for the rest of the row and knit the last stitch.

Row 2 and all of the evens: knit one stitch, purl all stitches until only one stitch is left, knit the last stitch.

Row 3: Knit one stitch, *knit one stitch, pass the next stitch without knitting with the strand of yarn in the front, bring the strand of yarn to the front*. Repeat * to * for the rest of the row until there are only 2 stitches left, knit the last two stitches.

Repeat these four rows until you have the desired size, and there you go!
