Today we are going to show you how to knit moss stitch, a stitch very similar to seed stitch. They’re almost identical, but moss stitch gives a deeper texture to your knitted projects. It’s one of the basics you’ve got to learn!

If you’ve never knitted this stitch before, don’t worry, with our video you won’t have any problem:

Cast on any even number of stitches.

Row 1: *knit one stitch, purl one stitch*. Repeat from * to * until the end of the row.
Row 2: the same as row 1.
Row 3: * purl one stitch, knit one stitch *. Repeat from * to * until the end of the row.
Row 4: the same as row 3.

Repeat rows 1 to 4 until you reach the desired length.

It couldn’t be any easier! As you probably noticed this stitch is exactly the same as seed stitch, but instead of alternating one row of knit 1, purl 1, with one row of purl 1, knit 1, what we’re doing is work two rows the same before changing.

If you’ve made any projects with our wools in moss stitch we want to see them! Don’t forget to show us your creations using the hashtag #weareknitters on social networks.
