Hi knitters!

This week we would like to show you how to decorate your designs crocheting. You only will need you WAK crochet needle.

This technique is very easy to learn and offers you the chance to get very good results on all your designs. We want to knit a real Scottish tartan in 2-3 colors but you already know that you’ll be spoiled for choice in knitting and decoration!

To start with this technique we need to decide how we want to customize our knitted garment. We decided to choose the Scottish tartan but we first need to know the position of the vertical rows. The horizontal rows need to be knitted as usual while changing the color with the thread.

Start to knit in rib stitch 3X1 or similar. It is important to be careful with the position of the stitches due that afterwards, you’ll decorate them with the WAK crochet needle.

Here we explain you how to finish your design with the WAK crochet needle. It’s simple due that you only need your crochet needle for starting a new chaine stitch. These chains will be a row of the tartan design.

Now that you should have your own Scottish tartan, we hope you’ll be able to use this technique with all your designs. You can always change color, position and the quantity of rows.

For this post we used 15 MM BEECHWOOD NEEDLES AND A CROCHET NEEDLE.

We have also chosen 100% PERUVIAN WOOL BALLS in FUCHSIA, AQUAMARINE AND OLIVE.

We encourage you to try this new technique and let us see your creations on Instagram.
