Crossed stockinette stitch

Hi knitters!!

Today we are showing you a new stitch technique with two needles: Crossed stockinette stitch

The texture will look very lovely on your Pima cotton or wool garments, it’s similar to Fabric stitch… and very simple to make!

To knit this stitch, you just have to cast on the necessary number of stitches onto one of your wooden WAK needles and start knitting as if it were Stockinette stitch but with one change: in order to knit the rows in which the stitches are knitted (odds), you will have to insert the needle through the back part of the stitch, from right to left, to have a crossed knit stitch. On the rows where the stitches are purled (evens) you will have to insert the needle through the back part of the stitch, from right to left, and knit it normally, so that you will get a crossed purl stitch.

So that we don’t leave you with any questions when trying this new technique with your next WAK knitting kit, we are leaving you with a video tutorial with every step that you will need to follow.

In order to make this tutorial, we used 15 mm wooden needles and WAK chunky wool.
